The Sr Backend Engineer focuses on developing, maintaining, and optimizing the server-side components of our platform. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a Sr Backend Engineer, you are comfortable with databases, server-side scripting languages, application programming interfaces (APIs), and server architecture to ensure seamless communication between the front-end and back-end systems.

What You’ll Do

• Work with data, processes, and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
• Create maintainable, testable and reusable code
• Develop features with security best-practices in mind.
• Audit existing codebase to improve performance
• Conceptualize and implement solutions for data storage

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with increasing responsibility
  • Professional experience writing enterprise code
  • Desire to learn and solve problems no matter the technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent knowledge of back-end programming languages in our tech stack
• Extensive experience in software development, scripting and project management
• Experience using system monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic) and automated testing frameworks

The starting salary range for this role is $125,000 – 150,000 annually.

We Are Hiring

The Senior DevOps Engineer works with Engineering, QA, and the Chief Architect to standardize processes and development tools across build systems.

What You’ll Do

• Own and improve enterprise SaaS infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Sustain and improve remote development standards for distributed software engineers.
• Maintain and enhance the CI/CD pipeline and implement strategic infrastructure across our various software products.
• Contribute to infrastructure and security monitoring, including continued SOC 2 compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps Engineering experience with increasing responsibility
• Production Kubernetes and Docker design and maintenance
• AWS knowledge for cost planning and optimizations
• CI/CD configuration with CircleCI and EKS
• Experience serving a diverse and international userbase
• Interest in wearing multiple hats (e.g., potentially writing some code, assisting with QA automation, on-call engineering rotations, etc.)

The starting salary range for this role is $130,000 – $155,000 annually.
